At the end of the month, we recognize the staff members who have made school enjoyable. The Character Ed committee reviewed over 80 nominations for 40+ staff members and selected this month's winners.
We are thrilled to announce the Support Staff Member of the Month for October: Mrs. Pamela Vail. She joined us last year and has significantly impacted her classroom and everyone she meets. Thank you, Mrs. Vail, for spreading kindness at SHS.
The Teacher of the Month for October is Miss Meghan Sullivan from the English Department. She supports students, staff, and school events, and led a successful production of "The Best of Broadway."

Congratulations to the Somerville High School Marching Band on winning the Ludwig Musser Classic at MetLife Stadium this past Saturday. The band received the awards for best music, best overall effect, best color guard, best percussion, and scored an 89.6, the highest score among all 60 bands in competition. On Sunday, the band traveled down to Tom River and won their 2nd consecutive Regional Championship with a score of 95.2. Congrats Ville Band!!!

Somerville High School is so proud to announce our six National Merit Commended Students! Congratulations to Ashley Confer, Paige Dickson, Tegan Dingwall, Manav Patel, Jake Perrine, and Matthew Senate! These outstanding students placed among the top 50,000 in the 2026 competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
