Teacher Spotlight: SHS Teacher Mr. Michael Skomba!
Mr. Skomba is a teacher of World History, Big History, and the Climate Project at Somerville High School. He is also a former graduate of Somerville High School (Class of 2005), 2018 Somerset County Teacher of the Year and 2020 NHSSCA Strength Coach of the Year. Mr. Skomba enjoys teaching long form history because it helps orientate students in the present and helps them better predict the future! He is also the Strength and Conditioning Coach, an assistant Football Coach, and the Yearbook Club advisor! Ville Club Spotlight!
The Crocheting and Knitting Club offers students the opportunity to crochet or knit in a safe space, regardless of experience or expertise. This club welcomes everyone from brand-new crocheters to master crocheters to create new and fun projects at every meeting. Come join our friendly community and meet others with similar interests while working on your crocheting/knitting skills, listening to your favorite songs, and eating delicious snacks. Our club aims to spread a love of crocheting and knitting amongst all Somerville students!

Calling all engineers, tinkerers, and programmers! The SHS Robotics Team will be hosting our 3rd annual Robotics Day. Students entering 8th - 12th grade can come and get a taste of what it's like to solve problems using robots. At the conclusion of the event, teams will put their creations to the test in competition with a chance to win cool prizes. The event will be on Sunday, September 10th, from 8am-6pm. No prior experience is necessary! Participation is free, and pizza will be provided.
