This week was World Read Aloud Day - what a success it was here at The Ville! If you were present in the halls of each of our buildings, you would be able to hear the sounds of so many different stories being shared in classrooms, libraries, and even virtual platforms. It was a day that reminded us of the magic of reading and the power of storytelling to connect and move us.
From our youngest learners at VDV to our high school pioneers, many of our Ville students embraced the day's spirit. Our incredible Somerville staff and teachers curated special read-aloud sessions, selecting books that sparked imagination, curiosity, and conversation.
Our media center specialists also played a pivotal role in organizing read-aloud marathons and interactive storytelling sessions.
World Read Aloud Day in the Ville wasnāt just an event; it was a testament to the power of reading to bring people together. It underscored the importance of nurturing a love for reading in our Somerville students, not just for academic success but for building empathy and a lifelong passion for learning.
To all who participated, thank you for making World Read Aloud Day a memorable celebration in The Ville. Hereās to many more stories shared and many more worlds explored together!
