It's Back to School Night's here at The Ville!
We begin tomorrow night with Van Derveer School's Back to School Night from 6:30pm to 8:00pm (Doors Open 6:20PM).
The night will begin with a Gymnasium Message from Mr. Reavey, Ms. Frevert & Mrs. Streko. Between 6:40 to 8:00PM, parents are encouraged to stop in the Multi Purpose Room to meet the Speech, Music, Instrumental Music, Art, Spanish, PE, OT/PT, Coding, STEM, Interventionists & Library teachers. Beginning at 6:45 until 8PM Parents/Guardians attend Teacher's Presentation in their students respective classrooms (with a break/transition from 7:20 to 7:25pm). The program concludes at 8PM.
Somerville High School's Back to School night is Wednesday, September 20, 2023 beginning at 6:30pm. We will run an abbreviated version of our A/B Block schedule with a 5 minute break between each block. You may visit the Parent Portal to access your child’s schedule. Each teacher presentation will last no longer than 10 minutes per class. During this time you will receive an overview of the course content and have an opportunity to ask general questions concerning the course material.
The parking lot located directly across from the main entrance on Davenport Street is reserved for Somerville High School Staff. Parking is available for our parents in the student lot located on the south corner of Orchard and Davenport Streets. Street parking is also available however, please make sure your vehicle is legally parked.
Refreshments will be served throughout the evening in the high school cafeteria.
Somerville Middle School's Back to School program is scheduled for Thursday, September 21st beginning at 6:00pm. The 2023-24 Back to School event will be held in-person at Somerville Middle School and will highlight our teachers conducting course presentations. Each classroom presentation will run for a period of 10 minutes with 4 minutes between classes. Please note that no presentation will be held for the lunch period or the "BB" period on your child's schedule. During this time we encourage you to visit the cafeteria for a light refreshment.
Please understand that numerous families will be in the classroom and that questions should remain general in nature and not specific to your child. If there are specific questions or concerns, please schedule a private meeting between yourself and the teacher. If needed, please contact Somerville Middle School's school counselor, Mrs. Badawy at 908-243-1526 to schedule a meeting.
Prior to arriving, please visit the Parent Portal and locate your child's schedule as it will guide you throughout the evening. If needed, hard copies will be made available upon arriving at SMS but may delay your arrival to the first period class.
