Student Council serves to coordinate communication among student activities, students, the activity advisors, and the Somerville Middle School administration.  Student Council officers, with the aid of faculty advisors, coordinate activities for the respective classes or the school at large.  Elections for the offices of president, vice president, and treasurer take place at the end of the prior school year.  The sixth grade class has the opportunity to fill the service position of secretary.  The election for the office of secretary is held in September.  A complete copy of the Student Council bylaws is available in the Main Office or through the Student Council faculty advisors.
