Somerset County Family Crisis Intervention Unit (FCIU) - FCIU provides immediate help to families that are in crisis as a result of any or all of the following: juvenile-family conflicts, a serious threat to the well-being and physical safety of a juvenile, runaway behavior, youth involved in human trafficking, or youth who are truant from school. Staff and services are available in English and Spanish. Although in-person visits are not currently permitted, staff can be reached at the following numbers.

  • (908) 704-6330 from 8:30 am - 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm on Friday

  • (908) 526-4100 (24 hours/ day, 7 days/ week, 365 days/ year)

NJ Child Abuse Hotline - If you suspect that there is a possibility that a child is being abused or neglected, please call (877) NJ ABUSE. Everyone in NJ is a MANDATORY REPORTER.

NJ PerformCareWhen a child is facing challenges to their functioning and well-being, finding the right services and support can be overwhelming. NJ PerformCare is committed to helping you access the right services for your child. It provides the following services: finding help for a child or adolescent who has behavioral, mental health, or emotional challenges; intellectual and developmental disabilities; and/ or difficulties with substance use. Call 1-877-652-7624. Operators and websites are available in English and Spanish.

Resource Guide - This guide provides contact information for general helplines/ hotlines and specific providers in the Somerville area. Emergency contact information is included as well as information about local agencies and private practitioners. Although it includes some notes about payment options, it may be best to reach out to each individual provider or your insurance for more information regarding payment requirements and insurance information.

Safe and Sound Somerset - Safe and Sound is a nonprofit organization located in Somerset County that provides shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and youth programs for families or youth that may be affected by domestic violence. They also have a 24-hour hotline at (866) 685-1122. Texting is available.
