HEALTH OFFICE INFORMATION
You need to scan in and out of the Health Office. Memorize your ID # if you do not have your ID on you.
Eat breakfast, if you are missing class due to not eating that is not acceptable. Breakfast is served in school until 7:35 am everyday. The #1 reason for feeling lightheaded/dizzy or having a stomachache is not eating. You need to maintain your blood sugar by eating breakfast!
Students are not allowed to come to the Health Office during Homeroom.
If you do not feel well, get your teacher's permission and go to the Health Office.
If in between classes you must go to your next class and make the teacher aware you need to go to the Health Office.
If the Health Office door is closed, go to the Main Office, they can reach the Nurse. DO NOT SIT OUTSIDE THE OFFICE.
In order to take ANY medication in school, you need a written note from your Doctor and parent, and you must bring the medication in the original package to school to be kept in the Health Office. Examples of medication include antibiotics, ibuprofen, Tylenol, Tums, Motrin, allergy medication, heart medication, asthma inhaler.
In order to eat a snack or drink fluids in school, you must have a note from your Doctor, which includes a diagnosis (reason) and length of time the request is in effect. Bring the note to the Health Office.
Do not text or call your parents to arrange pick up if you do not feel well. If you contact your parents before coming to the Health Office, you will be able to leave school; however, your absence will not be an excused absence. Health Office personnel will contact your parents if you are to be sent home.
If you have a physical injury, provide a note from your health care provider regarding physical education and sport restrictions. I cannot excuse you, you must have documentation from your Doctor. The Nurse AND the Athletic Trainer need a copy of the Doctor’s note if you participate in a sport.
Please bring sanitary supplies, the supply in the Health Office is for emergencies only. We need to have enough for everyone.
You are in High School. If you have a cold or allergies, bring your own tissues and cough drops to school.
If you have vomited, had 2 or more episodes of diarrhea or had a fever in the last 24 hrs, you must stay home until 24 hrs have passed without a fever or vomiting or 2 episodes of diarrhea.
If you have any health issues or concerns, please feel free to speak to me in the Health Office.
